Family-oriented bedroom community on the west side of I-15. Southern
border is large Los Peñasquitos Canyon Preserve. Two largest
population groups are ages 6-17 and 35-44. Western edge of community
is growing with new home construction. Part of the acclaimed Poway
School District. Homes in older section are typical late 1960s
and early 1970s Southern California tract homes.
Homes built in the 1980s and today are larger, stucco houses
similar to product being built in Carmel Valley, its more expensive
neighbor. View of undeveloped rolling hills in western-edge streets
and on hillsides. New section of Highway 56 built last year, but
funding still lacking to complete this connection to coast.
