San Diego county real estate
City: Rancho Peñasquitos

Family-oriented bedroom community on the west side of I-15. Southern border is large Los Peñasquitos Canyon Preserve. Two largest population groups are ages 6-17 and 35-44. Western edge of community is growing with new home construction. Part of the acclaimed Poway School District. Homes in older section are typical late 1960s and early 1970s Southern California tract homes.

Homes built in the 1980s and today are larger, stucco houses similar to product being built in Carmel Valley, its more expensive neighbor. View of undeveloped rolling hills in western-edge streets and on hillsides. New section of Highway 56 built last year, but funding still lacking to complete this connection to coast.

Only direct connector to coast is now dirt road. ZIP Code: 92129. Population 44,000. Median income: $60,000.
